What would it be like to live on the moon? The 2018/2019 FIRST® LEGO®League Jr. season will transport you to a place where you make the rules, learn to thrive and explore all that is around you. Discovery awaits when you join this MISSION MOONSM
Each year, FIRST LEGO League Jr. presents a new and exciting Challenge to ignite the creativity of children age 6 to 10. Each team of up to 6 children begins the exploration of this real-world theme with an exclusive LEGO®Education Inspire Model. Using this model as a starting point, they design a new model of their own with LEGO® elements.
As they work, they learn basic engineering and programming skills with LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 and apply those concepts to make their model move. Teams also document their work in an Engineering Notebook and share their journey through a team Show Me Poster. Throughout their experience, teams operate under the FIRST LEGO League Jr. Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®.
Design and construct a TEAM MODEL using LEGO® bricks and motorised moving parts from the LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 kits.
Research an area of the real-world topic and show what the team finds out on a SHOW ME poster.
Learn about the FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. CORE VALUES by working in a group and building self-confidence, knowledge, teamwork and life skills.
You will need a LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 kit for each team that enters.
Attend your regional showcase (showcases will be held in Dublin and Cork in 2019)
